Review: The Vampire Diaries Series

Title: The Vampire Diaries Series (EVERY BOOK)
Author: L.J Smith
Blurb:The Vampire Diaries is a young adult vampire horror series of novels created by L. J. Smith. The story centers on Elena Gilbert, a young high school girl who finds her heart eventually torn between two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore. (source : Wikepedia)
First Installment: 1995 (The Awakening)
Books in the series: 4 (The Awakening, The Struggle, The Fury, Dark Reunion)

Characters

I had to do this because  there are so many characters that will be included in the short summary

Elena Gilbert - Main Character
Stephan Salvatore - Secondary character (Good Brother)
Damon Salvatore - Bad, cruel, heads over heels about  Elena
Katherine Peirce - Elena's twin except she was alive during World War II
Meredith Foster - The calm best friend of Elena Gilbert
Bonnie Bennet - Physic, best friend of Elena Gilbert
Caroline Forbes - Former best friend of Elena Gilbert ( now they hate each other), gets possessed by the kitsune twins.

The Story (About Book 1)

The story begins with the main character Elena Gilbert. She is popular and everyone adores her. Girls envy  her yet still love her. Guys will go crazy after her. You get the idea.
Elena is back from a summer in France almost 3 years from her parents death. The next day at school a new guy name Stephan appears and they all think he's cute and Elena wants him. Of course she gets him and it turns out he is a vampire. Then there is Damon who is Stephans brother and also wants Elena. Damon is actually evil and cruel and Elena reminds him of Katherine.
As you can tell from up above it's basically a huge love triangle. A love triangle filled with alot of paranormal magic.

Review

At first, I was hooked on the series. I kept on reading the books. However, after the author wrote lots of books I felt a little bored. There was almost the same problem in every single book. I think I stopped reading about it like in the second book of The Hunters : Shadow Souls. That was where it got a little boring. I would've liked it more about the way Cassandra Clare did it. She did 7 books on The Mortal Instruments. Then proceeded to make another series revolving around Shadowhunters using different characters. I think that if L.J Smith decided to create a new set using same characters and think it was going to be intresting, well then she was wrong. I think it would be better if she used different characters it would have much more better. So basically it was boring. But in the first half it was actually good and exciting. Those were written in the late 1900's. I heard that bookd that were written her so pretty soon I might be reading The Secret Circle.
