Title: The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hal
Author: Katie Alender
Blurb (Source: Google Books)Delia's new house isn't just a house. Long ago, it was the Piven Institute for the Care and Correction of Troubled Females -- an insane asylum nicknamed "Hysteria Hall." However, many of the inmates were not insane, just defiant and strong willed. Kind of like Delia herself.
But the house still wants to keep "troubled" girls locked away. So, in the most horrifying way, Delia becomes trapped. And that's when she learns that the house is also haunted.

Ghost girls wander the hallways in their old-fashioned nightgowns. A handsome ghost boy named Theo roams the grounds. Delia learns that all the spirits are unsettled and full of dark secrets. The house, too, harbors shocking truths within its walls -- truths that only Delia can uncover, and that may set her free.
And she'll need to act quickly -- before the house's power overtakes everything she loves.
The Review
This is just another one of the book that seems scary, but is not. Actually, it's quiet enjoyable with a little sickening mystery twist. In a way this reminds me of "Famous Last Words" another book by Katie Alender. As you can tell I'm quite a big fan of hers.
This is about 15 year old Cordelia Piven. Her dear great aunt killed herself and left it all to Delia. But a darkness is on the house and trapped her. How you ask? By killing her. Yea it's gruesome, but it's not. Her aunt's (or rather her) house had once been a mental hospital. Locals called it "Hysteria Hall" mostly because girls who went there suffered of female hysteria. She finds other ghost and try to find out a little more about the place. The more she knew the more she became scared.
So she finds out basically there is there shadow monsters that kill girls who are "troubled". Maria describes as "black fire", but it's smoke then fire.
Of course in the end everything turns out alright. I acually liked this book. I normally don't like mysteries or paranormal mysteries. But I liked this book actually. Of course if your expecting to be scared you would not want to read this book. Like I said it's a paranormal mystery but it's not scary at all. BUT it is interesting and a very good book overall.
There was nothing to not like about this book. There wasn't a love story. Well there was but it wasn't major. You also I kind of tell from the blurb (Emphasis on "handsome ghost boy named Theo". That's not a setback. I actually liked that.
So sorry guys I haven't been updating(not a lot of people see this sooo..) but if you are looking foward to posts and reviews check out my update section on my blog. I have been busy with some work. It's almost April so you know what that means!
