When a book friend of mine found out I didn't read the Twilight Series she said (exact words) "OMIGOD YOU READ THE HARRY POTTER SERIES BUT NOT THIS!! YOU ARE CRAZY READ IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!"
I read the first book but I didn't post a review because I still unsure whether I like it or not. I read the second book. I loved it.
Pro's
The cover was the first thing that caught my eye. All the covers in this series are beautiful,but this one was more than a ruffled tulip. This held symbolic meaning that you will realize as you get into the book,but I'll just tell you right now. The flower is a ruffled tulip. It has a drop of blood that symbolizes the eternal pain Bella goes through when she breaks up with Edward.
When Bella first met Jacob I was already on board on Team Jacob. I love the relationship between them. It's wonderful and sometimes I wish it would develop into something more. I felt so bad for him because he is such a loyal person who will most likely do anything for Bella. He has a sense of humor and just a good vibe that even I could feel. I felt my heart rip in two when he got let down by Bella. Seriously, he is such a wonderful character. Stephanie Meyer makes him looks like a confused character. But if you think about it, he's doing everything for Bella. HE was the one who helped Bella get out of her... er... state or sadness. HE was the one who saved Bella from killing herself. Yet,he is the one let down.
The plot was great. It had a lot of action and the ending left you wondering about the mysterious Volturi and their visions with Alice. We know that in the near future, Bella will turn into a vampire. This is kind of like the The Vampire Diaries except in a more kick-butt way. It's far more enjoyable than TVD anyway. Con's
The action was a little too slow. Like maybe 100 something pages in then we realize Edward is trying to kill himslef. The other half Bella is just dazed and it's a bit boring. She also acts really pathetic in the beginning as well. But you have to remember that she lost the love of her life here.
My Rating
This books was actually good. There was a lot of things I liked than what I didn't. I most likely will be reading the next book Eclipse. Overall, a 4 star book.
